Akimeka Welcomes Leaders From The Joint Staff to Maui, May 21, 2002

On May 21, 2002, Vaughn Vasconcellos, Akimeka CEO, and John Harris, Akimeka COO, welcomed two distinguished guests from the Joint Staff: Vice Admiral Gordon Holder, Director of Logistics, J4, and Mr. Jay Erb, Global Combat Support System (GCSS) Project Director, J4.
Vice Admiral Holder and Mr. Erb were joined by other leaders in the Joint Service logistics community: Colonel Dan Magee, Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) Program Manager; Commander David Stratton, Joint Medical Asset Repository (JMAR) Program Manager; and additional representatives from the Office of Naval Research, DMLSS and JMAR.
Also during the visit, VADM Holder and Mr. Erb met with Maui County Mayor James Apana, and Maui Economic Development Board President Jeanne Skog and toured the Maui High Performance Computing Center (MHPCC).
VADM Holder’s visit focused on Akimeka operations, Federal projects and Joint initiatives. It was deemed highly successful by all parties involved.
