New Akimeka Office Opens in the Maui High Tech Park, February 12, 2002

At the close of his blessing, Kahu Mau gathered the Akimeka employees in a circle, and with a stick, representing a Hawaiian agricultural tool, he hit the ground within the circle, planting us into the ground in hopes that we will grow and prosper. Then, with a large Hawaiian ti leaf, Kahu Apana sprinkled blessed water (like holy water) on all of the employees gathered around him.

Mayor Kimo Apana, Reverend Mau, and Vaughn Vasconcellos sharing a good laugh. Mayor Apana said a few words of gratitude to Akimeka and hoped that this rare local and Hawaiian company will bring success and prosperity both to Akimeka and to the island of Maui.
