John Harris is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Akimeka LLC. Mr. Harris joined Akimeka LLC in 2001 as chief operating officer. Prior to that, he was president of JJA Enterprises, an independent consulting firm specializing in acquisition, business and financial management, and business development services. Mr. Harris has more than twenty-five years of health care management and business experience, both government and commercial, with special emphasis in the areas of strategic planning, operations management, procurement, and financial management. He also has extensive management, sales, and entrepreneurial experience focused on business organization and operations.

After completing a distinguished military career in 1994, which included assignments on both the Department of the Army and Unified Command staffs, Mr. Harris held the positions of division manager and group vice president with Information Network Systems, Inc. (INS), a high-tech information management solutions provider. At INS, Mr. Harris had responsibility for sales, operations, and marketing. In late 1998, Mr. Harris formed JJA Enterprises to offer business consulting services to small and medium-sized companies and government clients nationwide. Mr. Harris has both U.S. and international business experience, having spent many months working in the Middle East and in Central and Latin America. Mr. Harris holds a bachelor of science from Middle Tennessee State University and a master of science in healthcare administration from Southwest Texas State University. He also carries a master’s equivalent in international affairs from the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia.
