'Shop with a Cop' Project December 2005
Boosted by the corporate sponsorship of Akimeka, the South Maui Kiwanis raised enough money to purchase $50 gift cards for children in need to spend at the Maui Kmart store during the holiday season.

Maui Food Bank October 2005
Akimeka sponsored, for the second year, a Food Drive within the Maui Research & Tech Park, where the company houses its Maui operations. In addtion to the 300 pounds of food donated by Tech Park employees, Akimeka provided a generous financial donation towards the purchase of food to contribute over 3,000 pounds to the Maui Food Bank.
Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort September 2005
Akimeka is proud to report a successful outcome to our hurricane Katrina donation program. At the urging of employees and the management team, Executives announced a donation program for hurricane relief similar to the donation program held for Tsunami relief last January. Akimeka again chose to match employee contributions dollar for dollar with company funds. Employees again answered the call with generous donations to the American Red Cross.
Tsunami Relief Effort January 2005
Saddened by the news of great devastation in the Pacific Rim, Akimeka launched a donation program to help with the relief effort. Employees generously donated to the Red Cross to help the victims and aid in the efforts to rebuild their communities. Akimeka encouraged employees to donate by adding a dollar for dollar company match that enabled their donations to reach even further.
Maui Food Bank August 2004
Responding to the urgent need of the Maui Food Bank, Akimeka sponsored a financial donation for the purchase of food as well as the coordination of a food drive in Maui's High Tech Park. The two-week endeavor involved personnel employed within Premier Place, the Maui High Performance Computing Center, and the Maui Research and Technology Corporation buildings.
Alliance for Infant Survival August 2004
Akimeka dontated a much-needed financial contribution to the Alliance for Infant Survial, Inc.
Korean War Commemoration July 2003
On July 25, 2003, Governor Lingle presented a check to representatives from the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Korean War Commission. The money raised for this historic occasion came from the efforts of the Hawai’i National Guard, Hawai’i-based businesses, and individuals. Akimeka participated in this occasion through its charitable donation to the State of Hawai’i Korean War Commemoration Commission. Governor Lingle presented the check to Major General Bob Lee, The Adjutant General, State of Hawai’i and Commission personnel including BG (Ret) Irwin Cockett and COL Mike Rawlins, Hawai’i National Guard. Vaughn Vasconcellos, President of Akimeka, attended the presentation ceremony and was recognized, along with other company representatives and donors by Governor Lingle.
Hawaiian Homestead Technology (HHT) March 2003
Donated server & desktop systems, software, network engineering support, and technical support to Hawaiian Homestead Technology (HHT), a start-up company that will be training and employing Native Hawaiians in Anahola, Kaua'i. HHT, under a partnership with Anahola Hawaiian Homes Association (AHHA), and the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA) will be a contractor to a Native American digitization project for the Department of Defense.
Tech Ready Program July 2002
Financial donation to support Maui’s “Tech Ready” program for the county’s public schools.
Boy Scouts of America July 2002
Akimeka made a financial donation to Troop 144 (Mililani Town) Boy Scouts of America for 2002 summer Camp on Maui.

Donated desktop radiology digitizer to Maui Memorial Hospital, Hawaii Healthcare Systems Corporation (HHSC).
